2 Corinthians 1:19-23 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. 20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Seasons come and go. Michiganders know this more than most. Here in MI they say if you don’t like the weather don’t worry. Just wait five minutes and it will change. But seriously folks, seasons come and go and with them come limited opportunities to do what is proper in that season. This is the season of breakthrough. The season of ‘YES’! I believe that for those who are able to trust God at His word, we are in a season for breakthroughs, and for praying prayers that are answered!
In this season things that were denied are going to be released. Things that you tried before are going to work this time. Things are going to be activated in the realm of the spirit that are going to manifest in the realm of your life. It’s the season of God’s affirmative, the season of God’s yes! That is… if you can believe it, and receive it.
The bible says in 2 Cor. 1:20 that in Jesus Christ all the promises that God has made are affirmed. In other words Jesus Christ is the reality of all of God’s promises. The promises of God never waver. God’s promises are always confirmed, and affirmed. In other words, all of God’s promises can be banked on, and believed.
Allow me to paraphrase what Jesus said. ‘ When you have seen me, you have seen all of God’s promises manifested’. That should give you an added boost of faith this morning. Jesus is in fact the WORD of God. Jesus said you have (always), believed in God. You can put that same trust in me. So in this season of breakthrough, we need to trust and believe that God is about to set some things in order for us, through Jesus Christ our LORD!
If you look at the Bible you will doubtless find many stories of people who asked God for what seemed to be impossible, and God told them YES!
In 1 Kings 3:1-15 Solomon asks God for wisdom so that He could lead his people. But notice what God said. ‘I’m going to give you what you asked, but in this season I am also going to give you things you didn’t even ask for. Don’t stop at wisdom, ask him for prospertity, peace, joy, favor and everything else in this season.
Listen to what Jesus said in John 16:24 about asking Him for what you need:
John 16:24 NIV Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
So we have the right to ask the Lord for what we need because He told us to. He also said that we can ask Him for complete JOY! So yes! Go ahead and ask God for your joy back! Ask him for peace. Ask him for your emotional, physical, and spiritual renewal. It’s YES Season!
One caveat in this message. You have to have faith and trust in God enough that when God says YES, you can’t quietly, and inward be saying no to yourself. When God say’s yes you have to agree with Him both verbally and with your actions. You can miss your blessing when you say no, and God is saying yes.
In Numbers 13, God was saying to the children of Israel that it was time to enter their land of promise. But when the spies came back from viewing the land their report was basically no, we can’t do this. Only Joshua and Caleb believed God enough to know that it was YES season.
Numbers 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Because of Israel’s unbelief, YES season was delayed for a generation. Don’t be like that unbelieving generation. Say YES to the YES!
In this season ask God the hard stuff. Ask Him for the impossible stuff, the miracle stuff. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This is YES season!
2 Cor. 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
2 Corinthians 1:22 (NIV) (God) set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Think about that for a moment. The most valuable thing you can have on earth is the Spirit of the Living God living inside of you. Paul said the Holy Ghost is a mere deposit from God’s perspective. I want the deposit, and everything that comes along with it don’t you? There is much more to come! You better start asking in this season!
Matthew 7:7-11 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Matthew 21:22 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
John 14:12-14 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
John 15:7 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
John 15:16 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
If you don’t ask you will never know the power of God.
If you don’t ask you can’t receive.
If you don’t ask you living beneath your privilege. (You are a joint heir with Christ).
Start asking and start receiving today in this season of breakthrough, this season of YES!
