Show Me The Breakthrough!

Psalms 71:19-21 9 Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You? 20 You, who have shown me great and severe troubles,
Shall revive me again,  And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
21 You shall increase my greatness,  And comfort me on every side.

Living life in this world is full of challenges.  I have been amazed by the fact that there are some people who seem to be challenged on every side, while some others seem to need a breakthrough in only one area of their life. In the words of a great poet:

“Some people have everything and other people don’t.  But everything don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t the thing you want.”

In any event, I present to you today that God is the God of breakthrough for anyone who can trust him, but also obey even his most simple instructions.  He can and will turn things around for you if you can hold on, hold out, and believe that he is going to comfort you on every side like the Psalmist declares.

A couple of case studies in breakthrough deliverance.  Consider Naaman who was a high ranking general in the army.  His rank and the favor that he had assured that he would live where he wanted to live, have servants, money, power, you name it.  But there was a ‘BUT’, or an exception in his story.

‘2 Kings 5:1 ….he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper’.

Even though he had everything, there was one area of his life that he still needed breakthrough in, and that was his heath.  The powerful thing about Naaman’s breakthrough was that he finally did receive it, (after he humbled himself which apparently is hard to do when you have everything), and obeyed a simple instruction from someone who was in touch with God.  It was his servant servant that gave him a breakthrough word.  ‘If God has told you to do something complicated you would have no problem with that.  Don’t tell God what to do, just do what the man of God told you to do.  What could it hurt, and it just might help’.

2 Kings 5:10  Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”

Here is the problem with a breakthrough word.  There is a tendency to think to yourself, ‘That this far too simple.  It can’t be that easy.  This is not the way I imagined it, etc…’.  But remember that the greatest deliverance you have received to date, that is the salvation of your soul, is far too simplistic for most people to receive.   Yet it is a most powerful word that can change the trajectory of your very life, and give you eternal life as well.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD
Shall be saved.’

But we say it can’t be that simple.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Too easy.  Must be something some other way.

Let’s also consider the woman who went to Jesus to be healed by just one touch.  She was also rich, prominent, and had it going on.  Still she needed breakthrough in the area of her health.  In fact it was her lack of health that actually drained her finances, and with no heath insurance, she was about to go bust.  But a simple word caused her breakthrough.

Mark 5:28 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

Too easy to be true right?  There must be a more complicated solution.  But I present to you that our God is God of simple solutions for your breakthrough.  As the song says, ‘Trust and Obey.  There is no other way to be happy in Jesus’!

Your next breakthrough moment can come to you as simple as this:  Call on Jesus.  As the song says; ‘If you call on Jesus He will answer prayer’!  It’s not complicated!

Psalms 50:15 15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Psalms 91:15-16 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him.  16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Too easy right?

2 Chronicles 7:14 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Can’t be that simple.  Any other suggestions?

Proverbs 8:17 17 I love them that love me;  and those that seek me early shall find me.

Seriously?  Y’all don’t really believe that do you?

You can be a doubter or you can be a believer.  The choice is really yours.  But I urge you today to be a believer, and look for that breakthrough where you have it all.  I’m not talking about stuff only.  I am talking about the 360 degree blessing that comes with no sorrow added to it.  You are blessed and know you are blessed regardless of your situation because you know the ‘Lord of the Breakthrough’.

Psalms 71:19-21 Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You? 20 You, who have shown me great and severe troubles,
Shall revive me again, And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

This Psalm saw his entire life as being in the hands of God.  People are losing this faith today, but not you.  Even when times were not good he never lost faith that God was in control.  Still needed breakthrough in the one area of his life.  He needed deliverance from his enemies. (Do you know who your real enemies are)?   So he began to praise God, and declare his imminent victory.  ‘Lord you have brought me this far, and I know you are going to take me all the way’.

21 You shall increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side.

Comfort on every side.  The all around breakthrough!  The 360 degree blessing!

So Lord, ‘Show me the Breakthrough’!  Show me your power.  Fill whatever gaps are left in my life.  Give me that 360 degree blessing of Shalom!  If you have money, ask Him for health.  If you have good health ask Him for wealth.  If you have both but nobody likes you, humble yourself until he gives you a relationship changing word.

It’s not complicated.  It’s not hard.  It’s actually too easy so don’t let life fool you out of it.  Look to Jesus who is the designer, the author, and the detail person of your faith.  Trust him implicitly.  Follow His instructions.

If you are not saved, that’s were you start.  If you have lost your way come back to the Lord.  If you are not praying, that’s where you start.  If you haven’t receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost that’s were you start.  If you don’t know the answer, ask Him for one.  It’s not that complicated, God want to bless you all the way around!  Lord show me the breakthrough!
